Jesus is the same forever

"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever" Hebrews 13:8.

Christians are called to live by faith. What is the solid foundation for our faith? It is the character of God and His Word. Good news is that neither the character of God, nor His word change. His will for us does not change. His love, patience, mercy, grace, and anything we know about God does not change. His plans have not changed either. His redemption still works. Whatever Jesus was 2 thousand years ago, He is today, and will be forever. He saved, healed, forgave back then, He is doing it today and He will do it forever.

This kind of stability of the character of God and His immutable will are the solid foundation for our faith. There is no one like Him. It's often hard for us to believe that kind of God, because there is not a single living being in this world that would be so stable in his/her character. But God/Jesus is. His is the Savior. He is your Father/Daddy. His will is always good for you. You can come to Him any time you have a need, or you want to pour out your soul to Him. Trust Him now and forever.

God remains the same

"But you remain the same, and your years will never end" Hebrews 1:12.

There is nothing stable on this earth. Seasons change, we grow old, people change their opinions, fashions change, music changes, trends change. You cannot really build your life on anything or anybody you know around you. There is no stability anywhere. However, God does not change. He is not influenced by your opinions, market trends, changes of generations. He is the same: yesterday, today, and forever. His character is just as it was a thousand years ago, or even before the creation of the world and planets. That's why you can trust Him. He never lies. What He said thousands of years ago remains true today. His word is the only solid material to build your life on. It is a solid foundation that will not shake when the storms come. Thank God we can build our lives on His word. Let's do it. Have a great day.

Bible verse of the day 16

Today I want to look at a few verses from Genesis 22:1/12:” 1 Some time later God tested Abraham. 12 Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.“

In order to understand better the context of these sentences I would encourage you to read the whole 22 chapter of the book. God asked Abraham to sacrifice his son. In these times this would sound absolutely crazy. Nobody of us could do it. Yet, God had a plan in His mind and just wanted to test Abraham’s obedience. There are times when we expect something from God and there are times when He tests us and expects something from us.

God wants to have healthy relationship with us – people. He is omnipotent, omniscient, immutable and present everywhere at the same time. However, He has put a part of Himself into us and wants to fellowship with us. He shares very precious things with us and He expects something back. He gave the best of what He had – His only Son Jesus Christ. What will you give Him? I am giving this question for myself too. Have a nice day!
