His favor lasts forever

Psalm 30:5: “For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.

There is anger of God that comes as a punishment for sin. However, the Bible has some good news for us. His anger is very short. The word of God has even more good news and that is: Jesus took God’s wrath upon himself. So, if you sinned yesterday and repented of your sin you can be sure that you can rejoice with a guilt free heart today. Thank Him for his everlasting mercy.

God instructs sinners in his ways

Psalm 25:8: “Good and upright is the Lord; therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.

God is very patient and very good. He does not leave a sinner to die in his sins. The Lord waits patiently for him to repent and turn away from his old sinful ways. The Holy Spirit comes to a person to reveal the goodness of God. This revelation softens his heart and leads him to repentance. This is the marvel of the gospel. Not judgment of God, but His mercy causes us to repent and reject our old ways. Praise God for his everlasting mercy.

Have mercy for I am faint

Psalm 6:2: “Have mercy on me, Lord, for I am faint; heal me, Lord, for my bones are in agony.

It is no wonder we get weary, tired and weak. We are humans and weakness follows us daily. We need the mercy of God to strengthen us and bring us healing. If David was praying for this, so much more we should do that. Let us learn from the greatest king of Israel. He was never afraid to share his troubles, problems, sins and etc. with his God. Sincerity can open God’s heart towards us. Let us not hide from the Lord. He knows everything anyway. And He is merciful not to condemn us for our sins and weaknesses.

Wages of sin and gift of God

Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Sin is never left unpunished by God. He is righteous and cannot ignore the evils that happen in the world daily. The Creator of universe and all human beings cannot contemplate, speak or do evil or even tolerate it. God fights it and in due time punishes it. Sounds scaring, but that is the truth. There will be the Judgment day when righteous God will eternally condemn sinners and fully redeem the righteous. That is what my Bible tells me about that final day.

However, there is the bright side to it. God is good. He does not want to condemn a single individual. Therefore, he prepared the gift of eternal life for everybody who will repent and believe in Jesus Christ his son. Christ was punished on our behalf that we might be saved and enjoy eternal life with all of its’ joys and privileges being sons and daughters of God. If you have made Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior you have come out of darkness and will surely avoid the judgment of eternal damnation. You will live in God’ favor forever. Praise God for that.
