Let us read Genesis 33:4:”
But Esau ran to meet Jacob
and embraced him; he threw his arms around his neck and kissed him. And they
wept.“
We see a
bit different picture here than before Jacob left home years ago running from
his brother Esau. We are sure that Jacob is scared of meeting his brother as he
thinks that Esau is still angry at him. However, God is merciful and he touched
Esau’s heart and it melted when he saw his brother after so many years.
We often
start valuing what we have after we lose it. It is especially true about
people. When maybe bored with our family members, but when they are gone we
feel devastated. We want them to come back and suddenly we understand that it
is impossible. It is good if the scenario is the same as in this situation when
both brothers are still alive.
I hope it
is a good lesson for us all. Even if a person who is close to you is very good
and talented you should not value him/her for that. The same is true if he/she
is not talented at all. Just love him/her for what he/she is. Value people whom God has given you. If you don't you will feel terribly sorry when eternal separation will take place. Well, we hope to meet beyond, but who knows... . God bless you.
