Have a look at Genesis 32:28:”
Then the man said, “Your
name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God
and with humans and have overcome.”
In this
passage we see a change that starts happening in Jacob’s character. Jacob is no
longer a deceiver, but the one who gets answers from God, because God changes
his name. God hits his hip and crushes self reliance in Jacob’s life. From now
on Israel will really be blessed and will not trust in his own strength. I pray
that we will all become like Israel. May God help us.
