The magnitude of Jesus' forgiveness

³⁴ Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing” Luke 23:34. 

These words came out of Jesus lips right before his death. He was persecuted, slandered, arrested, beaten, spat on, hung on the cross, ridiculed on the cross, and after all these things He asked God to forgive those evil people their sins. WOW! Can there be greater forgiveness than that? Nope. God Himself was humiliated, beaten and rejected. Yet, He decided to forgive. Amazing love!

We all are sinners. We do not deserve forgiveness. But He gave it to us all for free. He does not hold a grudge against us. He forgave. He does not remember your sins anymore. His love for you is everlasting. Accept His forgiveness. Embrace His love. God is good for you. Your sins are forgiven. Your Savior died for you on the cross. Receive His forgiveness and be free from your sins.

Forgive my hidden faults

Psalm 19:12: “But who can discern their own errors? Forgive my hidden faults.”

Nobody can really forgive his own sins. You can try to do that, but it means you only forgive yourself, but by this act you do not put away legal guilt that hangs on you for doing this or that specific sin. Who can do that then? Only God! He is the One who can forgive or not forgive. I am so happy that He did forgive us in Christ. The only thing that you have to do now is to accept this gift. Accept His gift of forgiveness and be forgiven forever. Even hidden faults will be forgiven.
