“that no flesh should glory in His presence…” 1 Corinthians 1:29.
People
need something they can be proud about. It can be background, talents, position
in society, job, career, money, achievement and etc. It takes tremendous amount
of humility to acknowledge that anything we have comes from the Lord. Well,
almost everything, except our sins. Those are really ours, not His. But all the
other things in one way or another come from Him. You cannot be smart without
Him giving you intellect, insight and what not at birth. You could have been
born mentally disabled, but you did not. The same can be said about anything we
own and consider to be ours. Is it really? When you die, how much of what you
have will be yours? Nothing! You will leave everything behind. So, do not be
arrogant, but boast only about mercy of the Lord.
