Bible verse of the day 13

Here is a line from the Book for today, Genesis 19:26:”But Lot’s wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.“

Angel of God led Lot and his wife with daughters out of the sinful city of Sodom and told them not to look back. I believe He wanted to show them that life that was back there leads to destruction and if one loves what was there, one will partake of the judgement of God that the people of the cities had to endure. If you turned your back to the sinful pleasures of the world, do not look back. There is no real joy and satisfaction there. The things that are there are short term and they will pass away. Concentrate on what is long term – eternal will of God for your life. God bless you.

Bible verse of the day 12

Today, let us look at Genesis 18:14:” Is anything too hard for the LORD? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son."

As you may know Abraham and Sarah could not have children. When a total stranger (angel of God in human form) said that Sarah will have a baby after a year, Sarah laughed in her heart. All of her hopes of becoming a mother had been gone. It was IMPOSSIBLE NATURALLY. However, our God is a supernatural God and everything is possible for Him. If you are facing a hopeless situation or have lived with some problem, which seems impossible to solve, for year, do not lose your faith and hope. God is able to solve the issue in a twinkle of an eye. Just trust Him.

Bible verse of the day 11

Today’s verses are Genesis 17:5/15-16:” No longer will you be called Abram; your name will be Abraham for I have made you a father of many nations. God also said to Abraham, “As for Sarai your wife, you are no longer to call her Sarai; her name will be Sarah. ¹⁶ I will bless her and will surely give you a son by her. I will bless her so that she will be the mother of nations; kings of peoples will come from her.”

Here we find out one feature of God that is forgotten by most Christians today. He calls things not the way they are, but the way they could be and the way He sees them. He calls the things that are not as if they are. We see things as they are in the physical world and call them that way. However, there is a different reality apart from the one we know (physical one), which is spiritual one. Spiritual reality ultimately influences physical reality. And physical reality changes! That’s why God commanded Abram to stop calling himself Abram and also to call Sarai – Sarah”. They both became what they were not – fathers to the nations.

Let us believe that God can change visible reality for our benefit. God bless you.

Bible verse of the day 10

Let us look today at Genesis 16:13: “She gave this name to the LORD who spoke to her: “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have now seen the One who sees me.”

 

It is so good to know that you are not left by God. He knows your name, where you live, what you do and even knows what you think. He sees you all the time. And He does not have evil intentions towards you. He wants to do you good. The fact that He sees you may cause you anxiety, but it shouldn’t. Knowing it should inspire you to seek His face and pray to Him. If it does not you probably have a wrong image of God. Hope you will see it as we go on looking at various verses from the book on the daily basis.

Bible verse of the day 9

Let us look today at Genesis 15:6: “Abram believed the LORD, and he credited it to him as righteousness (NIV).“  Here the eternal question of how can one become righteous before God is solved. Most people get angry about it. They immediately start giving comparisons about bad person going to heaven (if he repents) and a good person going to hell (if he does not repent). 

You see, in our view there are levels of goodness and badness. We categorize sins and bad works, as well as good works and merits. In the eyes of the perfect God all of us are sinful. That’s it! Everything is said by that! And all of us need mercy of God to become righteous. How can this happen? When we believe His word! And no other way I am sorry to say. God bless you in your efforts to believe Him.
