Let us look today at Genesis 15:6: “Abram believed the LORD, and he credited it to him as righteousness (NIV).“ Here the eternal question of how can one become righteous before God is solved. Most people get angry about it. They immediately start giving comparisons about bad person going to heaven (if he repents) and a good person going to hell (if he does not repent).
You see, in our view there are levels of goodness and badness. We categorize sins and bad works, as well as good works and merits. In the eyes of the perfect God all of us are sinful. That’s it! Everything is said by that! And all of us need mercy of God to become righteous. How can this happen? When we believe His word! And no other way I am sorry to say.
