King of glory

Psalm 24:7-10: “Lift up your heads, you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is he, this King of glory? The Lord Almighty — he is the King of glory.”

Those that have a very vague image of God see him as an old guy sitting on the cloud and looking at the mess the world is in without being able to change something about it. They have a very wrong image of God. He created heavens and earth. He called all things into existence. Anything that you see has been in the mind of God first. He then spoke a word and it materialized. He has tremendous power not only to create, but also to destroy what he has created. One day this earth will vanish, because it is full of sin and refuses to repent before God, but for those who love this King of glory He has prepared new heavens and new earth where righteousness lives. Worship Him, because He is good for you. He uses his power to help you, save you, not to condemn you. Reconcile with him before his judgment is revealed.

Do not be afraid

Psalm 27:1: “The Lord is my light and my salvation — whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life — of whom shall I be afraid?”

Apart from ‘healthy’ fear of the Lord we do not have to be afraid of anything. Nothing and nobody should scare us. If you are his what you should be afraid of? God is your protector. He takes care after your problems and worries. People of the world have no hope and they are scared of multitude of things. They are afraid of diseases, getting fired from work, marriage problems, death and etc. If you are a Christian you are in the hands of a good and merciful God who loves you and wishes you all the best. Do not be afraid!

God’s timing

Psalm 31:15: “My times are in your hands…”.

We do not know times that are ahead of us. We may plan changes, events, programs, but only God knows what we are really going to do. We do not know the time of our death. God does! We did not plan our time of birth, neither we the time of our departure. But God knows everything. Our lives and destinies are in his hands. It might scare you. And it is not bad. Healthy fear of the Lord is necessary for every one of us. However, we should not forget that God is good and his plans are good for us. He does not plan how to destroy us. He wants to bless us. He wants us to live happily here and depart to eternity with peace in our hearts. Let us trust him. Let us put our lives into his hands and do his perfect will for us. We will never regret that.

Be patient

James 5:7: “Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains.”

Patience is a virtue that is largely unknown to the world and not much practiced by contemporary Christians. We know what we want and we want it now! It is difficult for our Lord to work with impatient people. He wants to see people whose character has been tested and refined upon in difficult times. You cannot grow patience when everything is ok. It is easy to be patient then. But when troubles come and they do not end in one day, it is time to grow this fruit of the spirit. It often seems that God is being late to deliver us from our problems, trials and tests. No, He is not. He wants us to change in the process and the final result of that is that we learn to be patient. Praise Him for your troubles. Those are priceless opportunities for you to learn to be patient.

Only believe

Mark 11:23: “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.

Have you ever thought about the power of faith? Yes, we know about God’s power, sometimes Satan’s power, but what about power of our faith? It is the second greatest power after God’s. Now, faith is the gift of God. Everyone gets a measure of it after he/she converts to Christ. We can use it and see tremendous miracles in our lives or we can let it lie unused with no benefits for us and others. Days of miracles are not over. Faith in God does move mountains. And it works for ‘anyone’ who believes. What is it you really believe for? Only believe! Do not mix it with your logical thinking. Your logic is far different from God’s logics. Follow His logic and you will see the impossible happening. If you see the invisible (with your spiritual eyes), you will do the impossible. Only believe!

Fear of the Lord

Psalm 34: 7: “The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.”

There is protection for those who belong to God. One character feature that separates a Christian from the rest of the world is the fear of the Lord. The world does not fear God. It does not believe that He exists and even if it does, it does not care to think about Him, to say nothing of fearing Him. On the other hand, a Christian knows that He is not only a loving God, but also a Holy One. God hates sin. He loves a sinner. But He has nothing to do with sin and those who are His try do their best to avoid sinning. They fear Him. This helps them to stay in his protection zone. If you are in sin, you are out of his protection zone. Run away from sin. Pray God to help you to get rid of it. He will help you to do it. God bless you and give you His fear. Have a nice day!
