Nothing lasts forever

"Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom" Psalm 90:12

Nothing lasts forever. We do not have unlimited time on this earth. It may sound negative, but it is the truth, and it can be applied very positively on a daily basis. First and foremost, every day is a good time to draw closer to God by reading His word, and praying to Him. People say, "hey, I am going to seek God, when I get old". Well, it's is foolish. You never know when your days on the planet are over. And if you postpone developing a relationship with God, you don't really know Him.

Secondly, we can and should share love with those who are close. Let's not withhold our love from those who are around, but share it daily, because we don't know how long they are going to be with us. Today is the day of sharing, caring, and loving every person you meet. Maybe you don't need to do much, just pass on a good emotion to them. Maybe more, help them out one way or another. Let's do it.

Christians have the best opportunity to share Christ with those who don't believe Him. Life is now and salvation is today. Gospel is a spiritual medicine for the world that does not know God. We have the cure for the spiritual disease (sin). Let's not keep the good news of God's forgiveness to ourselves, but share it with everybody around us. Let's be wise, because time is ticking away.

Is faith a tangible thing?

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" Hebrews 11:1

Faith is a tangible thing. It is invisible with a human eye, but it shows itself when a believer gets what he believed for. It's like a spiritual law. It materializes things that are invisible. Like the law of gravity. If you jump, you will land soon enough, because gravity pulls you down. It is the same with faith. Whatever you truly believe for (without a doubt) will materialize. Read the whole 11th chapter of Hebrews to see how believers got what they believed for.

Faith started with God, when He spoke things into being. Whatever God said, He believed that it would happen. And it happened, despite the fact those things did not exist before God spoke. Faith and words worked like a magical wand creating stuff that never existed before. Fortunately, it is available not just to God, but for us humans too. God wants us to have faith that does the impossible. It is born when you read the Bible, or listen to it. This miracle working faith is born in our hearts when we focus our thoughts on Jesus, and His words. Read the words of Jesus for a prolonged period of time and the same faith that God had (and has) while creating the Universe will be born in your heart.

In fact, the only way to please God is to believe what He says. You do not please Him by doing good works, but by believing what He said, and what He did for you. Reading about those works, and the words He spoke will transform you and make you a believer. Look at Jesus and you will get the faith that will please God, and get your prayers answered. Then, you will see the impossible become possible. Only believe.

Your faith can heal you

"Then he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace" Luke 8:48.

A lot of people misunderstand faith. They regard it as some compilation of religions rules, rituals, and moral commands given by God. Well, that is not what faith is. Faith is the assurance of things. If you have complete confidence about something - you have faith in it. Now, the Biblical faith is confidence in the things God said in His word - the Bible. This woman looked at Jesus and she saw more than just a rabbi. He saw that Jesus had the power to heal. This type of faith can do miracles. When you look at Jesus and see Him as the ultimate answer to the cry of your soul, you will get what your soul asks for deliverance, the forgiveness of sins, the healing of your body, or any other thing you are asking God for and believe He is going to give you. If you have this type of confidence, you will get whatever you ask for. Believe and you will receive.

Christ is our healer

"how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him" Acts 10:38

The verse clearly states that a disease is an oppression of the devil. God does not send them to people. They come as a result of the original sin, and by means of the oppressor - the devil. However, we have some good news. Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. He has a much greater power and He can deliver us, and the entire world from any disease, illness, or infirmity. Another piece of good news is that He shared His power with His Church, the believers. Anyone who believes in Christ as His Savior can pray for healing, whether it is his/her own healing or anybody else's. And we can pray against any kind of disease, I repeat, including the most recent one - the coronavirus. Let's pray for the power of God to destroy it in Jesus name. Amen.

By His stripes we were healed

"Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed" 2 Peter 2:24

Jesus brought us peace with God by the means of His sacrifice. As He took all the sins of the world upon Himself, God's judgment fell not on us, but on Him. Most Christians know that. However, that is not all. He also took our infirmities, sicknesses, and all kinds of diseases upon Himself, so that we could be healed. The Scriptures give this fact in the past tense. We were healed. It takes faith to bring this promise into realization. Let's pray that God almighty would stop the current pandemic of the coronavirus, those that are infected would be healed, and the healthy ones would be protected from the disease. We have the right to pray like that because healing of our bodies is part of the redemption that Jesus gained for us on the cross.

Anguish of the spirit

"So Moses spoke thus to the children of Israel; but they did not heed Moses, because of anguish of spirit and cruel bondage" Exodus 6:9

Oppression causes our spirit to experience anguish. This is what Jewish people experienced when they were forced to labor under very severe conditions. Instead of freedom, as God spoke through Moses, they found themselves in even worse situation - they had to collect the straws for making bricks on their own, meet the quota of the day, and if they did not, they were severely beaten by the Egyptian guards. When Moses reminded them of what God has promised to do for them (set them free), they could not listen to them. Their spirits were so oppressed that the good news could not break through.

You might be experiencing anguish of the spirit for a variety of reasons: disease, never ending battle with addiction, broken relationship, dire financial situation, and many more things that cause you to lose hope. You just can't see the light at the end of the tunnel. Remember this, Jesus is your liberator, He liberates you from any spiritual, soul, physical, or any other bondage, and your anguish will end the second His light reaches you. Keep on looking at Him, praying to Him, and the oppression will end. He promised to set you free, and He will keep His promise. Hold on to this hope.

Does Jesus care if we are drowning?

"A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?” He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”" Mark 4:37-41.

How can you sleep in a small boat in the middle of the squall? The disciples could not. They were doing the best trying to save the boat and themselves from drowning by pouring water out as fast as they could, but it was filling the boat faster than they were managing to pump it out. Yet, there was one who was sleeping during all this life threatening experience. It was Jesus. Why didn't He join to help the disciples to pour water out? He neither joined in their futile attempts to save the boat, nor in their panic. It seemed that they would all go down to the bottom of the lake sooner rather than later. Seeing that it was impossible to save themselves, the disciples rushed to wake up Jesus.

Jesus did not answer their question "...don't you care if we drown?" He miraculously solved the situation by commanding the wind and the waves to calm down. And the nature listened to its' Master. The issue wasn't with Jesus. He does care. The issue was with the disciples. They lacked trust in the master. They believed they could drown together with him. That was the problem, and Jesus addressed it.

So often we find ourselves in the middle of life storms: recurring problems, addictions, breaking relationships, curable and incurable diseases, financial challenges, mental issues, global pandemic (now) and we try to deal with that and other great challenges on our own in our own human ways and strengths. A lot of challenges are way beyond our human strength to solve. Yet, we keep on doing things our way, and only when we see that we are drowning, we start praying to God as the last resort for help.

God wants to be the first resort of help. He wants to see our trust in Him. He cares, and He wants to help, but His ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts. He is a miracle working God. He is ready to help. Yet, He is expecting us to believe in Him, and call on Him as the first resort for help. When you face the impossible, go to Him who solves the impossible.

Has God given you a spirit of fear?

"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind" 2 Timothy 1:7.

If fear has come your way, I want to ask you, has God sent it your way? Nope. He never does. He has no fear in his arsenal. It is not part of His nature. He is not afraid of anything and does not share fear with anybody. In this time of massive panic, it is important to fill our minds with the thoughts that are inspired by the word of God. It is a fact that what you focus on becomes greater. If you focus on all the news and facts coming from the current situation, you will be filled with fear. If you turn away from that and start looking at God's promises you will be encouraged, and filled with peace. Do you know that the phrase "Fear not" is used 365 times in the Bible. Some say, even 366. One for every day, and one is for the future, when the leap year comes. So, God has no intention of scaring you. He wants to take away your fear and give you love, peace, and joy. During these days of global quarantine, we have to look at the word of God daily and rest our minds on his promises. This will push away fear. FEAR NOT.

Fix your thoughts on Jesus

"Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest" Hebrews 3:1.

People copy other people. They typically do that with the ones they like or even adore. Those who want to be successful in some field often follow and repeat those who are successful in that specific area. They say that Kobe Bryant became so great because he actually copied all of the moves of Michael Jordan. Well, Kobe said that he added some of his own. Anyway, we Christians also have an example to follow if we want to be successful Christians. Jesus is our example. He left us not only His teaching, but also showed His attitudes, behavior, and lifestyle. We can only be successful if we imitate Christ and eventually become like He was. That is being a successful Christian. Not just reading His words, but becoming like Him in how we think, speak, and behave. That is what means being a disciple of Jesus. Let us learn from our teacher and become like Him.

The Guardian of the Universe

"The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word" Hebrews 1:3.

The Universe came into being after God spoke it into being. He did that by the power of His word, Spirit and through His Son Jesus. All things are upheld by the power of His mighty word. Every planet has its' trajectory. The sun, the moon, the earth, and all the planets have their own place in the Universe and move or stay where they are because God decided so. And it will stay that way as long as He sees that fit. Nothing will happen to the earth without God's permission. He knows everything. He knows about you too. Every hair on your head is counted. Your life is upheld by His mighty word. One day He will say "Come, your days on this earth are over", and you will leave the earth. Nothing is eternal on the planet. Only God is from eternity to eternity, and He knows everything, and He sustains everything by His word. Let's rely on His word. Let it uphold us. Let us be moved by the words. Then, our lives will be lived with a meaning. God has a purpose for you, read His word every day to find it out. Pray to Him every day, and He will reveal His eternal plans for you. God bless.

God remains the same

"But you remain the same, and your years will never end" Hebrews 1:12.

There is nothing stable on this earth. Seasons change, we grow old, people change their opinions, fashions change, music changes, trends change. You cannot really build your life on anything or anybody you know around you. There is no stability anywhere. However, God does not change. He is not influenced by your opinions, market trends, changes of generations. He is the same: yesterday, today, and forever. His character is just as it was a thousand years ago, or even before the creation of the world and planets. That's why you can trust Him. He never lies. What He said thousands of years ago remains true today. His word is the only solid material to build your life on. It is a solid foundation that will not shake when the storms come. Thank God we can build our lives on His word. Let's do it. Have a great day.

God speaks through Jesus

"In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe" Hebrews 1:1-2.

A lot of Christians want to hear God's voice. They want to get a word from God. And that is not so difficult. He speaks to you through Jesus. All of His words have been recorded by the apostles and his disciples in the New Testament, and you can apply each word that is written there to yourself. He spoke not only for those folks, but also for every generate that would ever come and every single human that is ever going to live. That includes you and me. The words of Jesus are a Supreme Court of the Universe. If you don't know how to deal with a certain issue from the perspective of the word of God, always consult the words of Jesus. Let the words be the lighthouse in the dark of the night. Build your spiritual house with the words that He said. Build your life on his words, and when the shaking comes (and it will) your house will stand. Nothing can withstand the shaking that eventually comes to everybody's life, but on the the houses that are built on the foundation formed with the words of Jesus. Let us build on the rock, not sand.

Who can be against us

"If God is for us, who can be against us?" Romans 8:31.

In Christ, the enmity between us and God was broken. He took all the anger of God on Himself. He no longer holds anything against you. Furthermore, He is now for us. He fights for you. All the Trinity are working to help you. The Holy Spirit is helping you to pray, Jesus is at the right hand of the Father and interceding for you, and God the Father has made the whole plan of salvation of your soul. Only devil and you can be against you. But devil is no match for the Trinity. He is no match for God's angels. Imagine, such a great team doing something to bless you. Wow! You are so blessed. Thank Him for justification, salvation, and protection. You belong to God. Nobody can take you out of His hands.

God knows everything

"Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely" Psalms 139: 4.

Psalm 139 is one of the most amazing parts of the Scriptures for me. I enjoy reading it again and again. It shows that God knows every little detail about me, and He cares about me. He has a plan for me and you, He knows where you are now, all of your circumstances. He even knows what you are going to say before you have actually said it. Wow! Read for yourself, not just the 4th verse, but all of the psalm. It is a great encouragement. When things get out of control, just like things seem to be happening right now with the coronavirus (COVID 19), God knows what is happening, He cares, and is ready to help. Of course, the situation reminds us that nothing is stable in this world, and we have to go to God every day and pray to Him. Do not be afraid, because He is not going to leave you alone in hostile circumstances you maybe in. God bless. He knows every detail about you. Pray that His perfect will is established in your life.

When you are in the darkest valley

"Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me;" Psalms 23:4.

On what base we should not be afraid? What is that logical argument to be fearless? I mean, there are all logical reasons to be afraid if you are going through the darkest valley. The main question is: are you walking alone? If yes, you have all the reasons to be afraid. If not, who are you walking with? Is it some fellow human? That might give you some extra courage, but it will fade away at the smallest challenge you face along the way. The only reliable companion on your walk that will cause you to feel safe is our God. If He is with you, you have no reason to fear. He can calm down any storm on your way, shine as the brightest light in your darkest valley, and even carry you on His hands if you cannot continue walking. Is He with you? If Jesus is your Lord, yes, He is. Praise God.

What governs your mind?

"The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace" Romans 8:6

What you focus on will either bring you death or life. There are carnal things that express themselves trough lust of of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. These bring about spiritual death, anxiety, and a baggage of other harmful things. On the other hand, you can focus on the things of the Spirit. This includes thought on the 9 fruits of the Spirit, meditation on the Word of God, your daily devotions saturated with prayer and listening to what the Holy Spirit has to tell you. These daily devotions give you tremendous peace if you do it regularly, which I encourage you to do. You have a choice, use it to be governed by the Spirit of God. Peace be with you.

Holy Spirit does not make you a slave

"The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship" Romans 8:16

God never leads you to bondage. He does not even cause you to fear. The fear of the Lord isn't a slaverish state that causes you to run away from Him. No, the work of the Spirit in you is that you want to get closer to Him. You are His son/daughter. You are the family of God. You are the citizen of the kingdom of Heaven. You should not be afraid, but come boldly to God with whatever question, request, prayer and etc. you might have. He is waiting for you as a father is waiting for his kids to come home. Take courage, and remember, He does not send fear to your heart. He sends peace, love, joy, and courage. Spend more time with the Holy Spirit to get more of the good stuff God has prepared for you. And get rid of fear. It is not your inheritance. The kingdom of God is!

"But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you" Romans 8:11

At times when we see the world being scared of the corona-virus we should raise our eyes towards God, as He is able to heal our bodies and protect them by the power of the Spirit that lives in us. Pray for the protection of the Holy Ghost at this time when panic is sweeping through the countries and trust in His mighty hand to protect you. If you believe in Christ, His Spirit is in you, and so you should believe His power to protect and to heal you. He wants to be your healer. Trust Him.

The wages of sin and the gift of God

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" Romans 6:23

It is a fact that anything we have of our own is sin, and anything good that we have comes as a gift from God. If we keep on living separated from Christ, the wages we will get will be death. There is no life, goodness, or holiness outside of Christ. However, we have been given a gift of eternal life. That one is for free. Embrace it, enjoy it, stick to it. Turn away from sin, and turn to God. I know, it takes the help of the Holy Spirit, but He is there to help you to fight against the stuff of the flesh and guide you towards God. Cheer up, the Holy Spirit is a reliable helper and guide. He is always with you to help, to strengthen you, and in case of failure to help you stand up and continue moving forward. Praise God for the gift of eternal life and the Holy Spirit that trains us in new way of life.

Nothing will separate you from the love of God

"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord" Romans 8:38-39

In the time of the outbreak of the corona-virus, we need something stable to rely on. That something is the love of God. Nothing can separate us from it. A lot of things can threaten you. The world is full of bad news. You need to hear good news in the midst of the turmoil that is there. What is the good news? God loves you. He loves you very much. He gave himself, to be humiliated, beaten, spat on, to get you closer to the kingdom of heaven, where love, joy, peace, and righteousness live. In the middle of this mess the world is in, you should contemplate about God's love. He will always love you. Never forget about that. He will never forget you. He is always close to you. He always loves you. Praise God.

No condemnation in Christ Jesus

"Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus" Romans 8:1.

If you repented of your sins and received Jesus into your life, there is no condemnation for you. God does not condemn you. All of your sins are forgiven. All of them. There is absolutely no reason for you to feel guilty about your past. A lot of people feel guilty about the stuff they have done in their lives, the sins they have committed and they still feel bound by their past. You should not be bound. Your past should not control neither your present, nor your future. There is no longer condemnation for you. It has been removed. The past sins are gone. They are washed away. As far as the east is from the west. God does not condemn you anymore. You are in Christ. You are freed. Praise God for the freedom and justification by faith. You are no longer a slave to sin. You belong to Him. You can come to Him every day as a child comes to a father and experience his love. He does not push you away. He accepted you in Christ. Praise be to God.

God is for you who can be against you

"If God is for us, who can be against us?" Romans 8:31.

We Christians often have a wrong image of God. Due to sin, weakness, addictions we often feel unworthy of God's love and sometimes may even start thinking that God is against us. That is absolutely wrong. If you gave your life to Christ, God is for you. Only you and Satan can be against you. He forgave your sins and forgot them. You might still remember them, but He doesn't. Jesus took all of the wrath for your and my sins upon himself. Praise God. Next time, when Satan reminds you of your sins, tell him that God does not remember them. You might also remind him (Satan) of his future. God is not against you, He is for you. But He is against Satan. The fella is your real enemy. Do not listen to his voice. Read the word of God daily, soak in His love and always remember that He is on your side. Amen.

Peace of God

"Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ" Romans 5:1.

Justification through faith brings about a lot of changes into our lives. One of them, we get peace with God. People live in fear, anxiety, worry, and similar emotional states daily. But we don't have to. We can have peace of God in our minds and souls. If you are right with God, there is nothing that separates you from Him and His love. All of your sins have been blotted out, washed away and you can boldly come to the throne of God, and ask Him anything you want. He is your father now. He is not angry with you. Jesus took any anger He had due to sin upon Himself and brought it to the cross. The judgement of God was poured out there. On Him. You have nothing to be afraid of, but can live in God's peace. You are not an enemy of God, but His son/daughter. Embrace it. Believe it. Thank God for it. Think about it. Let it sink in deep into your soul. He is for you, not against you. The world can be full of stress, you have God on your side, you have nothing to fear. Pray for His peace to descend upon you and enjoy it when it comes. Meditate on justification that you got in Christ Jesus. Nothing can take you out of His hands now. You are His and He is yours. It is a love relationship. Develop it. Stay in God's peace. Peace be with you.

We are justified by faith

"For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law" Romans 3:28.

All religions of the world try to get a man justified before God, or before a man himself. The vast majority of them will take a path of good works. Christianity is different. You can only be justified in the eyes of God by believing Jesus Christ and his atonement. Good works will follow your justification, but won't precede it. The key good job was done by Jesus on the cross. And that, and that one only can get you right before God. You have to believe it, and when you do, God grants you his righteousness for free. No good works can do that. God won't accept them as a means of you to get right before Him. Just believe what Jesus did, and that will give you a free gift of righteousness and make a peace between you and God. Your sins are forgiven if you believe in Jesus as your Savior. Blessed be His holy name. Amen. Praise Him for the gift. It is free of charge.

How do you please God

"And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him" Hebrews 11:6.

There is only way to please God and that is to believe what He says. You can do good works, for sure, but they don't get you closer to God, nor do they justify you in His eyes. You can get God's righteousness only by believing. Good works are the result. So, if you want God to like you, trust His word. He is good for you, has excellent plan for your life. Yet, He expects you to believe Him. He admires your faith. Keep on developing and strengthening it, and you will sew God's wonders happening in your life.
