Live is Christ and Die is Gain

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain” Philippians 1:21.

Only a person with deep and unshakable faith can say that. We may affirm to the statement in our minds, but we have to be of strong faith to say that. Paul saw tremendous things that Christ did around him, in him and through him and therefore could say such a radical statement. He saw that his religious zeal prior to coming to Christ led to nowhere, except pain for others. He saw how sinful he was and his desire to be with Christ was natural. Jesus has to become more real than people around us in order for us to say that. But that is possible!

May Our Love Grow

And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment” Philippians 1:9.

Low is an alive thing. It may grow or it may decrease. You probably know that love can also die. We may kill it in others with our harsh and critical words. It does not happen suddenly, but over a prolonged period of time. Well, that is a negative aspect of what you can do with feelings. The positive aspect is that you can grow any positive feeling. Sow love in others and it will grow in your own life.

God Will Finish What He Started

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ” Philippians 1:6.

Whatever God starts He also finishes. Look at the first chapter of Genesis. Whatever He said happened. Whatever He intended to created, He did create. We live in the planet that He created and enjoy all the things that He created. God has also drawn you towards Himself. His Word saved your spirit and He will also save your soul and body when your journey on this planet is over. He won’t drop you half along your way. He will bring you till the very end.

Always Pray

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints” Ephesians 6:18.

Prayer is the last spiritual weapon in the episode of Ephesians 6 where Apostle Paul teaches how to fight against our enemy. This is a method, which helps us to get extra power from God, when we run out of ammunition or get tired using what we have. Lord is always close beside us (and inside us) to help us to beat up the father of lies and be more than conquerors daily. Prayer opens the door of heaven, it is the key to answered prayers and it also is the key to revival in the church. Use it.

Helmet of Salvation and Sword of the Spirit

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” Ephesians 6:17.

Helmet of salvation protects your head and your thinking. We are given a promise that we shall be saved and this protects our hope about the future. We can feel safe, because we are going to our eternal home and stay with our heavenly Father forever.

The sword is the weapon of offense. We attack our enemy with it. It pierces darkness, brings light and freedom to the captives and also shows the path we have to go.
