Jesus Gives Us Rest

„Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30.

We get tired, not only physically, but also spiritually. Our souls, as well as our bodies can and do get tired. We constantly face opposition, temptations, spiritual fights and many more. The best way to get rest is to put on the yoke of Jesus. In a lot of instances we also get tired, because we are independent of Jesus. We walk our own ways and the world exhausts us. We need to turn our backs to the World and get under one yoke with Jesus. You cannot be completely free. You are either under yoke with Him or with the World. The World will wear you out, but if you are under the yoke with the Lord, you will feel rested. You have to make the choice.

We Are His Disciples

The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord“ Matthew 10:24.

Jesus called us to be a lot of things...Well, maybe not things, but to be: God‘s children, His servants, believers, saints, fishermen of men, His slaves, His bride, salt of the World, to be like Him and to be....His disciples. Those who follow Him, learn from Him. He is our Teacher and we are His pupils. Therefore, it is of uttermost importance to read the gospels and particularly the words of Jesus. They are direct God‘s voice to us. Our Savior, not just saved us and left us to dry. No, He called us to follow Him. Jesus is our Master. We have to learn from Him. He is above us  We cannot be above Him, but we can learn from Him and as a result be like Him. That is God‘s plan for us. Let the Holy Spirit guide us in the path of Jesus, so that we may resemble Him better day by day, week by week, month by month, year by year and to keep on doing till the day of our departure from this earth.

Persecution Comes to Christ Followers

And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved“ Matthew 10:22.

Good and evil, holiness and sin, God and Satan, righteousness and unrighteousness are ever in a state of conflict. The World has always been dominated by evil after the first humans fell into sin and any time spiritual light starts shining brightly it does cause the ungodly ones to resist it. Why? Because it convicts them of their sin. Our lives show not only the love of God to the World, but should also show them their sin and lead to repentance. People have to be saved, but in order for them to be saved they need to know that they are sinners and they must desire to get rid of their sinfulness and bow down before Jesus by giving their lives into His hands. If they don‘t, they will surely turn against those who proclaim the Gospel. So, do not be surprised if the World hates you. It hated Jesus too and Jesus did not promise to deliver you from this hatred and persecution. So, if you are a follower of Christ and experience contempt from those around, do not be confused. That is a natural reaction of darkness towards light. However, believe that they will find mercy as you have found it once. God bless you!

Unbelief Blocks God’s Blessings

And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief“ Matthew 13:58.

Faith unlocks the blessings and grace of God, which enables you to experience all types of spiritual, soul and body blessings. However, you must see invisible reality. You must recognize Christ in action. His folks, family and people of his town did not see anything divine in Him. They thought He was an impostor. They did not believe Him. By their unbelief they locked themselves out of the blessings of God. Healing and deliverance passed them by, because they saw nothing extraordinary in Jesus. Those that did see, got their miracles, blessings and became His followers. Do you see anything extraordinary in Him? Do you believe He can do a miracle for you? Yes, He can. Do not doubt, only believe and you will see the glory of God.

He Gave Them Power

„And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.“ Matthew 10:1

Jesus expected His disciples to continue the mission of salvation after He was gone. They were His ambassadors in this earth to represent His Kingdom. They were not left empty handed, but given the power to convince the world that Jesus is the Messiah. The power included casting out of devils and healing of all manner of diseases. We see some, but not much of it today. However, in His great commission Jesus said that the signs of power should follow those that believe His name. That include us who live 2 thousand years after Jesus death and resurrection. We should expect to be healed, delivered and offer the same to those whom we preach the gospel. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever and the power is given to us to serve those who are in need. Let‘s pray it follows us when we share the Word of God with the unsaved ones.
