15 inspirational Bible verses for everyone

  1. I was reading your profile and was hoping to explain something about positive thinking related to Christianity. The Bible says in "Romans 9:15 For He saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. 16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy."

So, when good things happen in our lives, it's not because we had positive thoughts in our minds picturing Jesus giving us what we wanted, it really is God showing mercy on us through His gifts.

That doesn't mean you have to be negative to be a Christian, either. Although I don't do positive thinking, which is too focused on us envisioning what we want God to do instead of focusing on God's will for us.

Instead, when I pray, I feel postive that God will answer my prayer in whatever way He decides is best. If the prayer is answered in the way I had hoped, then that's best. If it's answered in a way that I didn't prefer, then that's what's best according to God, who always sees the big picture.

I remember years ago praying for things one house. I felt that God would want it for my family and was initially discouraged when we didn't get it. Then, six months later, my husband, at that time, lost his job. I realized that our not getting that house was the best thing for us, because God saw the Big Picture. We would have lost the house, our credit rating, etc. As it turns out, that after he had a stable job again, we were able to buy another house.

This really changed my approach in my prayers. I don't usually comment on people's beliefs, but felt led to share this with you.
Bible Passages That Can Influence Your Life

  2. Hi, Debra. Thanks for your comment. I am very about it.
Now, any theme in the Bible can be looked from various perspectives and most of the verses can have sort of double sides.
We can talk about mercy of God on the one hand and about righteousness of God on the other. These two qualities of God do not contradict each other.
The same can be said about our part and God's part in anything that happens in life.
Yes, God has a plan for each and everyone and in many cases He can intervene in our lives by His providence. However, He also meets us on the basis of our faith.
Why some Christians do great things for God and others see nothing of that? Is it that God does not want to show His great things for the latter? No.
There are reasons for anything. We are made in God's image. We are redeemed by Christ. He brought us onto a completely new level with God than the saints of the Old testament had. Do we realize that?
If we believe we are nothing and wait for God to do everything we might wait for years, or even entire lives and nothing will happen. Some Christians live that way. They just wait. What about dreams, visions, plans, strategy and etc? It does not exist? It does exist. But everything should have balance. Daily relationship with God will help us to achieve that.
Ok, so much for now. Thanks for sharing your examples. I do agree with you. It just that I see a lot of camps in Christian world and most of them see a few aspects of God. But He has a lot of 'faces'. And they do not contradict one another.
God bless you. If you ever have comments you are welcome.

  3. Thank you so much for sharing this. I believed God is concerned in every aspects of our lives, even in choosing our friends. In the Bible, many verses, just like you enumerated in your blog, explains how important it is to have friends, how to choose friends and whom to avoid.

  4. Thanks for your comment Mitch. God bless you in everything you do daily.
