Shield of Faith

“Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked” Ephesians 6:16.

The devil is after your faith. The whole fight that is raging in your life is actually about your faith. The Lord wants it to grow; the enemy wants to kill it. Satan specializes in doubts, God Almighty in strengthening your convictions about His Word. Fiery darts come flying towards every Christian every single day. Some are injured, some even die, yet those who use their shield stand firm in the battle and overcome the enemy.

Ready to Preach the Gospel

“And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace” Ephesians 6:15. 

I’ve been writing about spiritual fight and armor of God in my last posts. Here is one more weapon that should be always in our arsenal and that is: readiness to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. The devil is scared of it. We conquer him by preaching the Word and the plan of salvation. How can you set the captives free? You have to proclaim freedom to them. Freedom that has been paid for by Christ! If we don’t do that people will stay in the bondage of sin. Let’s always be ready for sharing our faith with others.

Truth and Breastplate of Righteousness

“Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness…” Ephesians 6:14.

There cannot be gospel without truth coming first. People have to know and feel that they are sinful before they can hear and accept the good news of salvation. We also must speak truth and it is the foundation of the kingdom of God. Satan is the father of lies and God is the opposite. Everything that God says is perfect truth and Satan is a perfect liar. Well, maybe not that perfect… So, take truth as a weapon against the devil and smite him with it. 

Righteousness is the weapon that protects your heart. You are redeemed by the blood of the Lamb and He has become your righteousness. You cannot be condemned for your sins as they are forgiven and washed away. Your righteousness does not depend on your works, but on Jesus work on the cross of Calvary. You have to believe as it is the only way for that breastplate to hold and protect your heart from the fiery arrows of the enemy.

Withstand in the Evil Day

“Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand” Ephesians 6:13. 

Not all days are created equal. You sometimes wake up and everything is fine. The sun is shining, your neighbors smiling, people at work friendly and whatever you do succeeds. However, there comes a day when you have everything and everybody coming against you. Everybody seems to be rude, you fail at everything you do, and even your friends are not friendly to you. That kind of day could be characterized as evil.  Well, there could be an even worse day when some tragedy strikes. That’s when you need all the armor of God to stand strong and endure the attacks coming at you.
