Bible verse of the day 2

Hi, this is the second post on my blog. I want to go through every book of the Bible taking those verses that impress me most. We will look today at Genesis 2:16-17: "And the LORD God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”

We know that Adam and Eve did not die physically when they have tried the fruit of the tree. What happened then? What kind of death is God talking about here? He is talking about eternal separation of human from eternal source of life. God is the source of it and if we are separated from Him we are in eternal death. We are alive physically, but if sin separates us from Him, we are spiritually dead. And when we die we will eternally be separated. However, Christ died to bring us back to the Father and now we have eternal hope. Blessed be His name.
