Bible verses on giving

I continue my posts where I give Bible verses on specific topics. For more on that you can look at separate pages on the right side of the blog (on the top). Today I have selected special Bible verses on giving. Hope they will be useful.

Proverbs 28:27
„He who gives to the poor will never want, but he who shuts his eyes will have many curses.“

Matthew 6:4
„...so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.“

Romans 12:8
„...if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.“

2 Corinthians 8:7
„But since you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you —see that you also excel in this grace of giving.“

Philippians 4:15
„Moreover, as you Philippians know, in the early days of your acquaintance with the gospel, when I set out from Macedonia, not one church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving, except you only...“

Deuteronomy 15:10
“Give generously to them and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to.”

Proverbs 11:24-25

“One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.”
Acts 20:35
“In everything I showed you that by working hard in this manner you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
2 Corinthians 9:6-8
“Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed.”
