Bible verse of the day 18

I cannot help looking at the topic of prayer as the 25th chapter and verse 21 deal with that:” Isaac prayed to the Lord on behalf of his wife, because she was childless. The Lord answered his prayer, and his wife Rebekah became pregnant.

We see so many instances how people of God prayed and He answered by giving them children. This was in Abraham’s life and now Isaac had to undergo the same things. His wife could not have children. For twenty years! We skip this fact too often. We read in one verse that Rebekah could not have children and in the next verse how God answered Isaac’s prayer.

We often miss how much time had passed before the happy moment arrived. And a lot of people miss their answers from God by getting disappointed because the answer seems to be late. It maybe, but a believer always trusts and believes. We are convinced that God can change any situation in a quarter of a second and even faster. Yes, He can. Do not lose hope. Trust Him. Whatever it takes!

Bible verse of the day 17

Let us look today at Genesis 24:12:” Then he prayed, “Lord, God of my master Abraham, make me successful today, and show kindness to my master Abraham.

We see how the people prayed all over the Bible and God answered their prayers. Do you believe God can do the same thing for you? He is not biased. He wants to see faith and trust when you pray and He does not care what your nationality, sex, job, social status and etc. are. If you believe, He does answer and you get what you pray for.

Being good or bad has nothing to do with God answering you or not. There isn’t a single person who could be able to call himself good. And you cannot be too bad! All of us are bad, because all of us have sinned. It is Jesus that makes us worthy in God’s sight. Praise God. Be blessed and wait for your prayers to be answered.

Bible verse of the day 16

Today I want to look at a few verses from Genesis 22:1/12:” 1 Some time later God tested Abraham. 12 Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.“

In order to understand better the context of these sentences I would encourage you to read the whole 22 chapter of the book. God asked Abraham to sacrifice his son. In these times this would sound absolutely crazy. Nobody of us could do it. Yet, God had a plan in His mind and just wanted to test Abraham’s obedience. There are times when we expect something from God and there are times when He tests us and expects something from us.

God wants to have healthy relationship with us – people. He is omnipotent, omniscient, immutable and present everywhere at the same time. However, He has put a part of Himself into us and wants to fellowship with us. He shares very precious things with us and He expects something back. He gave the best of what He had – His only Son Jesus Christ. What will you give Him? I am giving this question for myself too. Have a nice day!

Bible verse of the day 15

Let us read together Genesis 21:1-2:” Now the LORD was gracious to Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did for Sarah what he had promised. 2 Sarah became pregnant and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the very time God had promised him."

One thing that we learn from the extract is that God is faithful and He keeps His promises. Maybe we want Him to be faithful and grant our wishes, but that is not the case. He is not obliged to fulfill all our dreams and desires. He obliges Himself to Himself and His word. He is perfect. And He is good. So, if you believe Bible, you should also believe the promises that are there and trusts that God will do for you what He has promised to. Good luck in keeping your faith!

Bible verse of the day 14

Here are two verses for the day Genesis 20:17-18:” Then Abraham prayed to God, and God healed Abimelek, his wife and his female slaves so they could have children again, 18 for the LORD had kept all the women in Abimelek’s household from conceiving because of Abraham’s wife Sarah.

This extract teaches us two important things: God protects his people and He answers their prayers. I know that there sometimes happen disasters and people ask why this and this happened to those who were faithful to God. I do not know. I do not see the big picture all the time. I do know that God loves us and nothing happens without His knowledge. He protects us and even if we die, we go to Him.

He also answers our prayers. Pray to Him if you have any needs and you will get what you need. In this case, Abraham prayed for healing of others, even though his own wife could not conceive. God answered his prayer and after a few years gave Abraham a child too.

Praise God. Do not lose hope. He listens and answers your prayers.
