Blessed is the man

Psalm 1:1-2: “Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.”

There are two paths in life: broad and narrow. The first is the path that leads to curse, sorrow and eternal damnation. The second one is the path that leads to blessing, joy and eternal happiness. The path of the wicked is the broad path. It may create an illusion of happiness, but that illusion melts when a person walking on the broad path starts tasting the fruits of such a life style.

On the other hand, the path of a righteous may seem pretty boring, dull and void of any joys of life. But that is not true. There is joy, happiness and satisfaction on the path of those who delight themselves in the Lord. God’s blessing comes to the man who takes time to read the word of God and meditate on it daily. That man may seem strange as he avoids being in the company of the mockers and ungodly people.

People of the world do not understand, because they have no idea of spiritual rebirth, experience of God’s love. And God’s people find it strange and unpleasant to involve in all kinds of sinful activities. Those things give them no joy.

What gives you joy? What is a blessing for you? Do you really want to be blessed? Read all Psalm 1 to find out how you can achieve that. The first two lines are only intro. Hope the post was useful. God bless you in a mighty way.

Vytas.
