Bible verse of the day 7

Today I want to give you a few verses instead of one, but they deal with the same topic, just from different perspectives. It is Genesis 13:10/14-15: “10 Lot looked around and saw that the whole plain of the Jordan toward Zoar was well watered, like the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt. (This was before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.)  14 The LORD said to Abram after Lot had parted from him, “Look around from where you are, to the north and south, to the east and west. 15 All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever.

Here both Lot and Abram raise their eyes and look at the physical wealth that is before them. However, they look differently. Lot sees the charm of Sodom and Gomorrah and is tempted to go there and take part of the wealth that is there. Abram, on the other hand, is encouraged by God himself to look up and see what he saw. In the first case, Lot is motivated by his lusts to go and take up the land. In the second case, Abram is motivated by the Word of God. I hope you understand what I mean. What motivates you? Here I leave you. See you tomorrow.
