From self to Jesus

"And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit" 2 Corinthians 3:18.

If you focus on yourself, look inward, you will always be depressed. Inward we find the original sin, the works of the flesh, imperfections, weaknesses, and if you look long enough at yourself you will lose hope, confidence, and possibly develop various destructive emotional states like fear, anxiety or the above mentioned depression. Self search hardly ever does any good. Where are we supposed to look then?

At Jesus. Faith never looks inwards, it always looks outwards and at Jesus. This is how you get hope. This is how you change from weakness to strength, go from fear to courage, from depression to hope, from anxiety to love. As you look at Jesus, you see the Redeemer, the One who paid the price for your salvation on the cross. He always uplifts you, never throws you down to the ground. Shift your focus from yourself to Jesus. And keep the focus that way. You will always be changed and become more like Jesus daily.
